I found a video i did last year for ‘Deeper’ on youtube.
Deeper are a skate church that meet every thursday night at unit 23 skatepark.
The video was used in America as a promotional tool to help raise money for the ‘Skate Church’. It was well recieved and helped raised funds to keep Deeper running.
The photo’s and footage were taken by members of Deeper and were not ideal for editing with but i done what i could.
Ideally i would have like to have used a better camera and filmed the skate-shots myself.
The animation at the start was also created by me.
Ive been doing some freelance work for ‘Culture’ recently.
Culture is club night that started back in November and has been growing each month. They have had big name dj’s play at the nights and have started to gain recognition as one of the best club nights in West Dunbartonshire.
I have also recently finished a banner ad for Mixed In Key.
Mixed in key are the industry leaders in the Harmonic Mixing Dj Software and are a sub company of Allen & Heath.
Go to my portfolio to see my new work along with some older stuff.
I have been watching alot of video’s on ted.com recently and thought id post my fave videos here.
If you have never heard of ted before its a website where you can watch videos of the worlds smartest people sharing their ideas and thoughts.
Adii has posted his top 53 blog designs of 2007 over on his blog.
The list is gigantic and contains some really well built sites, some that i visit quite reguarly and some that i will be adding to my bookmarks.
Im pretty sure ill also be using this list for inspiration on my next re-design.
So yeah, go check it out!
Ive been a follower of chase for a while now. He’s one of my favourite photographers and probally has the best job in the world.
He’s been doing a series of videos called “Frames” which shows you every single photo he takes during a photoshoot and then singles out the photo that ‘makes it’. Pretty Interesting!
If your a photographer and read strobist regular then this is probally old news but ive posted a couple of chase’s videos after the jump anyways.
Ive just finished coding this template into wordpress.
Its pretty basic and dark… but im happy with the way its turned out.
My reason for using such a simple template is so that i could have a mess around with some wordpress plugin’s and some other stuff without having to worry about a complicated layout aswell.
Ive also used one of nyssa’s rss feed icons on the top of my sidebar. Her icons would have never worked on my last layout so was glad that i could fire one in this design.
You can download her rss icons for free here.
Anyways, this layout is only temporary as i now feel i have wordpress kinda dialed, so expect a much cooler layout sooon.
Looking through my site you will see i mention “Standard Compliant Web Design” quite a few times. This basically means that i code my websites to comply with all current ‘Web Standards’ and do my best to adhere to as many ‘Accessibility Guidelines’ as possible.
So what does all this mean?
Web Standards were put in place to make sure that all online content will work on any platform & browser whether it be firefox, opera, the dreaded internet exlorer, windows, mac osx, linux or even your shiny new iphone.. if your website is standard compliant it will work regardless.
It also means that no matter what brand new technology is invented in the future your website will stand the test of time and will keep on working forever.
So in short, if you want your website to still be around in 10 years time and working like it does today make sure your website is standard compliant!
You can check to see if your website complies with all current standards here.
If all this still confuses you and you would like to get more info, head over to the website’s below.
Welcome to my freshly re-designed website.
I have integrated the site with wordpress so that i can now blog about my work and other design related stuff that interests me.
I will try to update the site daily and will add usefull resources as often as i can.
